Welcome to MytyMO Saints. We have been in love with Saint Bernards since 1971. From 1971 to 1991 we had a series of pet quality spayed Saints that shared our home and our hearts. 2003 saw us getting a Saint, “Freckles,” and putting her in the show ring. Although Freckles was pet quality, she taught us a lot and allowed us to meet others that also fancied Saints. She even became an International Champion.

Getting ready for our first show at Sedalia, MO. I had no idea of what I was doing. A gentleman grooming his Golden Retriever cam over and helped me groom her legs. Freckles was around 6 - 7 months old in this picture.

One of the first Saintly people we met was Wende Wagner. We had met on the internet. When the first show was scheduled that we were to step into the conformation ring, she drove from Kansas City to assist us. We did not even know how to handle the lead or put the collar on correctly. She got us straightened out and we made it through that first show.

We met Barb Sarti-Allen at ringside at Lawrence, Kansas. Barb has become a mentor to us and we respect her knowledge and the expertise she has shown with Saints. Much to our pleasure, she offered us a puppy. We bought “Utopia’s Big Mac Attack” from Barb and put that show quality boy into the ring. He did become a champion. We still had our Freckles after obtaining “Big Mac” and as he grew, we still showed Freckles at every opportunity.

Often we went into the ring with us being the only entry. That was ok because every time we went into the ring, we learned something. I think sometimes we looked really pitiful because soon other handlers of other breeds were standing outside the ring critiquing us and giving us solutions to our handling problems.
.
After meeting very serious Saint Fanciers at the 2004 St. Bernard Club National at Houston Woods in Ohio, we knew that we needed to obtain and breed top quality St. Bernards. We did not take a dog to this first National but just met people, looked at dogs, learned, and enjoyed the company. When we got home, we looked at Freckles and thought, “Boy, do you ever need to be spayed,” and that is what we did.
We obtained our first show quality female Saint from Toni and Brian Beninger. This girl was “Benbaron’s Raven of Eddie.” She won an “Award of Merit” at the 2006 St. Bernard National at Cheyenne, Wyoming under judge Stan Zielinski. We were very proud of that achievement since we had only started showing three years prior to this.
I was so proud of our little Raven. Our first show quality girl. To think, she came all the way from Ontario to live with us in Missouri. We really got blessed!
We went on and obtained several other Benbaron dogs from the Beningers and they are the foundation of our breeding program.
We also breed cattle and have top producing beef cattle. We follow breeding rules which we believe assist us in the breeding of dogs. When a cow is identified as having a weakness in an area, such as udder suspension, then we find a bull that will fulfill that requirement. If we have a heifer from that mating, that heifer’s udder will be stronger. If we identify a fault in a female Saint, we want to find a male that will strengthen the progeny from that mating to meet the Saint Bernard Standard and improve the St. Bernard breed.

Our breeding program is to breed for top notch Saint Bernards. We want our dogs to meet the Saint Bernard Standard as described by the SBCA with emphasis on movement, temperament and disposition. We bred our first litter in April, 2007 and whelped three puppies in June. This was the first litter with the kennel name of “MytyMO.” We took our “MytyMO Asia of Tonka” to her first conformation show in Lake Saint Louis, MO in January 2008. She did very well and was very happy in the ring. Her tail never stopped wagging all the time she was being examined by the judge.
We both work outside the home to support us and our love of Saints. Philip owns and manages a feed and supply business and Jeanne is a Registered Nurse teaching in a Practical Nursing program. We also have three Havanese of which one is still being shown in conformation. We also have three grown children who are happily married and doing well in their careers. We have four grandchildren with our fifth grandchild expected in Sept.
We are both members of the Saint Bernard Club of America and the Heart of America St. Bernard Club.
We are busy with the National Cattleman’s Association, the Missouri Cattleman’s Association, and the Johnson County Cattleman’s Association. We are both committee members of the National Wild Turkey Federation and Jeanne often attends “Women in the Outdoor” events. Jeanne is a Regional Faculty member of the American Heart Association, which means that she teaches Basic Life Support Instructors to become instructors and keeps them updated. We are both committee members of different insurance boards. Jeanne is a Master Gardener.
We love our Saints. We believe that our Saints should be loved, get proper nutrition, and get plenty of exercise. As time allows, we attend obedience training classes in Blue Springs, MO. We work closely with our veterinarians to keep our dogs up to date on their vaccinations, worming, and doing frequent health checks.
Please enjoy the rest of our website. Feel free to contact us if you have any questions. We enjoy talking “Saints.”
